5 Low Cost Ways To Prepare Your Home For Sale

It's Spring and a great time of year to sell your home! Here are five low cost improvements you can make today to make your house shine!

1 - Touch Up Paint. A single gallon of paint used in the right places can go a LONG way to improving the interior - and exterior - of your home! Inside: focus on baseboards and window sills, scratches on doors, and areas that are dirty or scuffed. Do your best to match the existing color. Exterior - are your gutters chipped? How about around your windows and trim? Make sure there are no signs of exposed wood or siding.

2 - Clean those windows! Inside and out. Clean all mirrors and reflective surfaces, like faucets, too!

3 - Plant seasonal flowers in your garden beds. Or put pots of flowers on the front porch. If it is too cold, try a vase of fresh flowers indoors.

4 - Put away personal photos. This is critical for your potential buyer to be able to "see themself" buying your home. Also remove any decorative items that are either very personal, valuable or of very specific taste.

5 - Make those nagging plumbing repairs you've been avoiding. Fix the leaky sink or replace old toilet seats. Scrub the grout in the shower stall.

There you have it! Quick, easy and inexpensive. Now, give me a call when you are ready to sell! I'm happy to help.
