Summer is the time to tackle home improvement projects.
When trying to decide which projects to budget for and complete first, prioritize the improvement based on what you will gain the most immediate enjoyment from now.
Homeowners often wonder which improvements provide the best return on investment. The answer is very subjective. Gleaming new wood floors, brand new appliances, expensive tile, elegant light fixtures, fresh paint, updated 3 piece sink faucets can dramatically transform the appearance of a home. But don't make the mistake of waiting until you are getting your home ready to sell to finally make improvements like build the deck you could have been enjoying your daily morning coffee and afternoon dinners on for years.
There is no guarantee no matter how high the finishes or the cost of the fixtures installed, that you will get a dollar for dollar return on home improvements. Take time to think about what you will gain the most enjoyment from on a daily basis after any health and safety issues in the home have been fixed.
