Neighborhood Spotlight: Athmar Park
This not very well known Denver neighborhoods is on my list of “up and coming” areas. Home prices are still lower than the city average but are on the rise, making for an easier buy and potential for great investment. Located between Alameda and Mississippi, Santa Fe and Federal it’s central with great proximity to downtown and major highways. This, along with the quaint charm and diversity are among the reasons I love it. Beautiful parks, esp. Huston Lake and nearby Ruby Hill Park offer easy access to exercise and relaxation. An active neighborhood association helps bring neighbors together with a running club (Wednesdays), pick up volleyball games in the park (Fridays), farmer’s market (every other Saturday), play dates for families with children to meet, play and get to know one another (Thursday evenings) and monthly movies in the park. Nearby Federal Blvd has the best authentic Mexican food in town and numerous Pho restaurants. The Platte River bike trail is just minutes away; with numerous improvements to the greenway in progress it’s getting better than ever. Many changes have happened in the last few years and more good things are on the way. Check it out, I think you’ll love it too !
