Fear Of Action
“Someone's sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” -Warren Buffett
This is important. Be certain that you aren’t making excuses NOT to do something that you want to do. Be sure that your reasons for inaction are legitimate. Everything you do is preparing you for your future. If you legitimately think that something is a good investment of your time or money, find a way to get it done. Opportunities pass us by all the time and often without our knowing. Be prepared to act on the opportunities that make sense to you.
Take action. Invest time and money in yourself today. You can’t go wrong here. I have conversations with clients all the time about their finances. I listen to the excuses for why they shouldn’t invest in a home right now but several months or a year from now instead. Most people I speak with can get themselves into a new home or buy an investment property right now. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not always the best financial decision. I’m talking about people who have the means and WANT to take this action because they know how it benefits them specifically.
Oftentimes, I don’t have to sell someone on why to buy a home. People will recite the benefits to me themselves. Every week, I have several clients tell me that they want to stop wasting their money on rent, and instead be able to invest it into the equity of a home. This way they can have that asset available to them for the future. Owning property is a giant indicator of long-term wealth in our society. The problem comes when it’s time to put some action to the thought. Life will never be perfectly in place for your improvement. You have to take the risk. But instead, people jump to excuses. What a lot of people don’t seem to grasp or apply to their lives is that the stars just won’t align for you. It takes action. You have to move into alignment as well.
We’re all taking risks simply by existing. I could come up with any number of solid, logical reasons that I shouldn’t get on the highway in the morning. Why even get out of bed? Don’t let the fear of life’s risks paralyze you into inaction. If there’s one thing we know for sure, inaction isn’t getting you anywhere.
